Tui Na

Tui Na is one of the oldest known systems of massage, originating from China as far back as 2300 BC. This bodywork treatment is based off of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that uses Taoist and martial arts principles to bring the body into balance. This form of Chinese manipulative therapy does not require the client to undress (wearing loose comfortable clothing is recommended), and is usually specific to a recent injury (sprain, strain) or chronic pain. Techniques used can include rolling, pressing, kneading, brushing, range of motion, traction, massage and stimulation of acupressure points. The therapist can help facilitate the body's energy to move within the meridians, tendons and muscles. (30 and 45 minute session available for specific injury/area work at $1 a minute).

Myofascial Release

(MFR) is a form of structural bodywork, that addresses the body as a whole, allowing the body's fascial system to return to its correct position, length and function. MFR addresses the often overlooked fascial restrictions that can develop due to injury, post-surgical scarring, poor posture, or trauma.

During MFR therapy, sustained pressures (sometimes up to 5 min or more) and gentle stretches are applied to release restrictions deep in the affected tissues. This in turn relieves the pressure on other structures, allowing for increased range of motion and function, and decreased pain and discomfort.

The resulting release and unwinding restores freedom of movement and release from pain in ways that are unmatched by other therapeutic techniques.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which the therapist applies cups on your skin to create suction. It is used for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, stagnation or release of blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

It dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. One of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, the Ebers Papyrus, describes how the ancient Egyptians used cupping therapy in 1,550 B.C.

Facial Rejuvenation Cupping Therapy

Facial cupping is a pain free, cost effective, detoxifying, and has an effect on the overall radiance of your skin. Facial cupping is a technique used to help brighten lusterless skin, reduce redness and dark spots, tighten sagging areas, drain congested lymph, soften wrinkles and discourage the formation of new ones. The cupping is coupled with light massage and acupressure when needed.

As with any therapeutic treatment, results can vary from person to person. The recommended initial course of treatment with facial cupping consists of between 5 and 10 sessions. The results are cumulative, especially if treatments are performed 1-2 times per week.

Women throughout Asia, Russia and Europe have been using these effective facial treatments for rejuvenation and beauty maintenance for generations. This natural, noninvasive treatment  remains favored by millions worldwide because it’s safe, comfortable and remarkably effective.

What our customers are saying

Cari is highly intuitive and really knowledgeable about the body. I have had hip pain for years and have seen a chiropractor and acupuncturist. Cari gave me some specialized treatment including cupping. It's all but gone, i'm amazed. If you are looking not just for a massage but to help any ailments she is excellent.

Diane H - Client - 4/16/2017

Cari was amazing!!! She had an incredible balance of just the right pressure and knowledge of the body that made for a perfect massage. She worked on the areas that I needed! Thank you Cari!!!

Marie D . - Client - 3/22/2017

Cari did a massage for me last week. I will say it was the best massage I recall in many years. Just wonderful. She is very intuitive and knows her trade.

Judy  G. - Client - 2016

Thank you Cari, for your excellent work on my neck and shoulders. Numbness is receding from, and normal feeling returning to, my thumbs and right index finger.

Arleen H. - Client - 2013

Cari has a great strong intuitive touch. I've been using her for about a year now and I love her Tui Na technique. She also does great deep tissue work. And incorporates cupping in the massage as well. She listens to what you want as well as targets the areas that you need the most work on. She is a great therapist and would highly recommend her services. Can't wait to make my next appointment!

Shasta L.. - Client  (Massage Therapist) - 2013

I had a 5k run that I planned to do on a Saturday after starting the P90x program on the Monday previous. By the end of that week I could not move I was so soar and stiff from the P90x workout. I was sharing this with Cari just in simple conversation that I planned to cancel the 5k which was the next day. She suggested a deep tissue massage and stretching and I really didn't think it would work well enough to perform but hey I could go for a massage after my first full week of P90x. Well the massage was great and I felt super relaxed leaving there and was loose enough the next day to actually run the 5k and there is no way I would have been able to do it without the deep tissue massage and the stretching. It was an unbelievable experience.
